Congratulations to our club Chairman, Bob Wells, for winning the Volunteer Award in the  BBC Radio Lincolnshire Make a Difference Awards 2023.

The awards are designed to shine a light on people who go the extra mile for others in their community. It's a chance to say “Thank You” and show recognition and appreciation for people who love to make life better for others.

Along with the eight other winners, Bob joined the other 31 finalists at a ceremony on Thursday 28th September.

Here, we share the full nomination that won Bob the well-deserved award.

"Bob Wells - Louth Swimming Club Chairman who has served loyally for over 30 years with 28 years as Chairman.

A contagious and infectious personality who has dedicated so much time to the families of Louth and wider. Providing an inspirational start in their sporting journey and empowering them to be the best version of themselves.

When things go wrong, as they sometimes do, Bob will smile, stick his thumbs up, and remind us that together we’ve got this.

Whether its cutting hedges around the back of the venue to make sure it's spik and span, manning the carpark during events, or bolting over to the venue to learn all about the timing pads whilst they are being serviced. Bob always has time for his club!

We take for granted the impressions individuals have on our community. The number of families, individuals, and venue staff who have learned from Bob, been inspired, or simply cheered up by him is truly remarkable. In my eyes a true hero, and fully deserving of the recognition award."

What a great chairman we have got in our club!
