Louth ‘Dolphins’ Swimming 2024 ‘Sportsman’s Week Presentation
12 Aug 2024

We came together as a club to celebrate the success at our 28th Sportsman's week event held by the club.
"A day when our swimmers come together at our home pool and compete for the Sportsmans Week age group trophies. Well done to all of our competing swimmers who, as usual, gave it their all." Director of Swimming Ian Roscoe.
This year's event was officially the 28th Sportsmans Week event held by the swim club and an amazing 71 years since it all began back in 1953 to mark the Queen's Coronation.
Originally the events included swimming, cycling, darts, angling, clay pigeon shooting, to name just a few. The rules meant only athletes within a 10-mile radius of Louth could compete. Unfortunately, the event folded in 1994. Our chairman Bob Wells, was on the Committee at the time, and the club agreed to take ownership of the swimming trophies reintroducing the swimming events in 1996 with a promise to keep the swimming event going... which it still is to this day!
It's a real team effort and takes a lot of organising an event like this with many volunteers behind the scenes. Thank you to everyone involved.
“Yet another successful Sportsman’s week competition by Louth Dolphins, keeping the long-standing tradition going. As usual the competition was fierce." Performance Head Coach Mark Anstey
The presentation of the awards saw an opening introduction by Club Chair, Bob Wells, giving thanks to all coaches and volunteers. The Announcer was Club Director of Swimming Ian Roscoe and Trophies Secretary Claire Annison-Snowden.
Below is a summary of the award winners, each presented by the hard-working Squad Coaches.
