This weekend our Skills squad ventured to Beverley to the amazing Barracudas Spring Equinox Extravaganza. For many of the squad it was their first ever swimming meet. There were lots of nerves but with the help and support of the fantastic poolside team (Jo, Danny, Gem, Debbie, Emma and Izzy) and the older swimmers, they all did amazingly well and had lots of fun along the way!

With heat declared winners and top 6 receiving medals in each age / category you could feel the energy of the swimmers racing to be their best. Bringing home lots of medals and smashing pbs, the team did so well and we’re incredibly proud of them all.

With it being Mother’s Day, the swimmers even sang happy Mother’s Day in the tune of 'happy birthday'. The spectator area was full of proud mums, dads, grandparents, siblings and carers and I don’t think any one of them would have rather been anywhere else than watching their little one swim their hearts out.

Fantastic event all round - special mention to the Louth admin team (especially Rebecca Taylor) organising our attendance at these amazing events and on poolside - Danny, Jo, Emma, Gem, Debbie and Izzy - kind, supportive and encouraging - absolutely fantastic and very much appreciated!

Here’s a few candid shots to sum up the day and a summary of race medals and pbs.
